2011 Tournament 

The 2011 Bean Camping Tournament was held over the weekend of Saturday, October 22nd  & Sunday October 23rd at Marin Dies Jr. State Park in East Texas. The rivalry between the competitors was only matched by the rivalry between the tournament and the park rangers....consequently the rhythm and participation throughout the events was choppy at best. Nevertheless, as a one Benjamin Franklin once said "He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else" and as the 2011 tournament concluded Jeff Bean, II was crowned as champion. This is Jeff's first title of the decade and his 8th since the tournament's inception in 1984. With this victory, Jeff is only two tournaments behind the all-time record of 10 wins. 

 

It was another massive year in terms of attendance, with 18 men in contention. The returning competitors to the campout were James E. Bean - Jeff Bean II - John T. Bean Sr. - David C. Bean - James T. Bean - John T. Bean Jr. - Daniel P. Bean - Shane C. Bean - Jim Bean - Ronald Sigler - Ryan Terry - Michael S. Muhs - Chance McShan - Richie Wells - Paul Smith, Grant Jones,  Richie Drouillard. The year's only newcomers (fodder) was Philip Brown.

The events were croquet, putt-putt golf, bocce ball, horseshoes, washers and darts. Each event was a double-elimination style bracket with points awarded based on place finished.
