The 40th Annual Bean Camping Tournament is officially in the history books. The games took place on November 17th & 18th at a new venue in Wallis, Texas.

There were 13 competitors in 2023 including champions: James Bean, John "SR" Bean, Michael Muhs, John "JT" Bean & Danny Bean. Additional veterans included Tyler Bean, Shane Bean, Chance McShan, Richie Wells, Paul Smith, Jordan Brown & Andy Huber. Lastly, Juan played his rookie year as the first fodder in a while.

Heading into the tournament, all eyes were on Danny Bean who was going for a 3-peat after a narrow 2022 victory that ended in a tie-breaker with JT. And so, on Friday the first games of the tournament were HorseShoes, Croquet and Putterball. Below are the bracket LINKs and finishes for these events:

• HORSESHOES: 1st – Danny Bean, 2nd – Jordan Brown, 3rd – James Bean, 4th - JT Bean

• CROQUET: 1st – John "SR" Bean, 2nd – Danny Bean, 3rd – JT Bean , 4th - Chance McShan

• PUTTERBALL: 1st - Michael Muhs, 2nd - Jordan Brown, 3rd - Tyler Bean, 4th – Danny Bean

As the last putts were made at the end of day 1, the leader in the clubhouse was Danny with 7pts, followed by Jordan (11pts) and James (14pts). Saturday's games began with Cornhole & Washers, followed by Darts to be played at night. Below are brackets and finishes:

• WASHERS: 1st - Michael Muhs, 2nd - James Bean, 3rd - Paul Smith, 4th – John "SR" Bean

As night fell on Saturday, Danny had 16pts with Michael (20pts) & James (21pts) within striking distance for the final game of DARTS. However, in 3 straight wins, Danny guarantied himself 3rd place in darts, and therefore his 3rd consecutive tournament victory.

2023 marks Danny's 7th overall victory and only the second 3-peat in the history of the games. Please find some photos from 2023 below:
